Allergy Relief With Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the perfect solution for long term allergy relief.
Allergy treatment with acupuncture will include acupuncture, nutritional advice, herbal medicine, and moxabustion. Stuffy noses, itchy eyes, sinus headaches, and eczema can be a thing of the past. It is best to start with acupuncture a couple months before allergy season begins.
Acupuncture has the unique ability to get to the cause of the problem rather than only treating the symptoms. Acupuncture treats the symptoms too, but not limited to only the symptoms. Over-the-counter anti-histamine medications are like sweeping something under a rug. When you do that year after year, you end up collecting a heap of yuck in the body. Definitely not a long term solution.
Allergy Home Care
For allergy home care, one of the best starts will be to explore diet and environment. I recommend eliminating (or drastically reduce) milk from the diet of anyone that has allergy problems. The theme here is mucogenic foods, the things that encourage our bodies to create mucus. We don’t want those. In my clinic, I prefer adding yummy things to the diet rather than restrict…that being said, milk, gluten, cannabis, and alcohol are often triggers. When removing potential trigger foods to allergies, be sure not to indulge in them for 2-4 weeks to let your body clean out the trouble maker and revitalize.
Diet as a whole can be remarkably helpful. Checking our environment for mold and dust can be helpful also. This is crucial when sensitivities develop around the time someone moves into a new house or office. In the Portland area, I refer people to Andy Eberly at Pure Environmental (503-893-9731), he does a free 15 minute consultation. www.purenvironmental.com
